We call this, “Amateur Night” – the night when more people go out and get drunk than any other night, except for maybe New Year’s Eve.
We love the idea of a party, and we are all willing to be Irish for a day if it means good times.
This year we start Daylight savings really early. That’s fine with me – it’s one step farther away from winter, and I love the idea of an extra hour of sunlight in the late afternoon.
So at 2:00 am it becomes 3:00 am. If you are sound asleep you won’t even miss that hour that disappears.
On the other hand, those of us who are already sleep deprived will sorely miss that hour. Here’s hoping you can sleep in a little later Sunday morning and not mis the sleep after all.
If March comes in like a lion, I don’t mind so much, because I would much rather put up with a short period of wintery bluster as a last gasp and then have a nice, warm, end of the month when it goes out like a lamb. The first three days have been cold and windy, so the lion is here, for sure.
What better way to start a completely new internet adventure than making the leap on Leap Day?
The older I get, the more I appreciate having an extra hour or two. Today is an extreme bonus – a whole extra day!
This blog project is like parasailing – I’m standing on the edge of the blogoshpere cliff, with an apparatus that will help me fly and soar, so I’ll take a running start and
jump!
