Plan B

The weather forecast for this holiday weekend is a litle murkey. We are hoping for sunny days so we can take advantage of the water sports and fishing. But if we end up getting rain we have a “Plan B” - we’ll take the family to the new cineplex in Fredericksburg and watch one or two new movies. I’m especially interested in watching the new Indiana Jones movie on the widescreen.

Last night the kids were surfing the internet for movie things and our daughter was especially looking at celebrity news and gossip sites. She is a big fan of some of the current Hollywood brat pack, which we aren’t thrilled about and hopes she gets over this phase of adolescence quickly. The current Hollywood starlets are not good examples of the morals we are teaching her.

On the other hand, there are Hollywood celebrities that are living quiet, upstanding lives, with good choices for their life partners, lots of charity work, and none of the DUI’s and half dressed photos from the parties like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears.

Of course, the good people don’t make the news that often. It was interesting to see a slideshow of Hollywood celebrity photos and make note of how many photos were for awards and positive news versus the badly dressed and irresponsible or immoral people in the news. Those bad examples are the people that I refuse to support with my money and I won’t allow my children to buy tickets to their shows, either.

I don’t recall hearing anything negative about Harrison Ford, so if it does rain this weekend we are heading to Fredericksburg to watch the new Indiana Jones movie. I love a good adventure and I like to support the deserving artists.
